Steve Gresh Announces Candidacy for State Representative, House District 20

Steve Gresh, northern El Paso County resident for over 27 years, announced today that he is a Republican candidate for State Representative in House District 20. The seat is being vacated by Representative Lynn Hefley, who is term-limited.

Gresh, 49, is a computer systems analyst, programmer, and consultant. He has developed manufacturing, accounting, and other business software in Colorado Springs for several companies. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science in 1977. He also earned graduate honors from Regis University in 1997. His MBA degree emphasized finance and accounting.

Gresh is the Vice President of the Colorado Chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus (www.RLC.org). The RLC seeks to elect pro-liberty individuals to public offices. Gresh supports lower taxes, downsizing government, parental choice in education, gun owner rights, property rights, health care reform, and criminal justice sentencing alternatives. He opposes Referenda C and D, the questions on this November's ballot, which ask voters for the two largest tax increases in state history.

Gresh is married to the former Joan Kinevan. They have two daughters, Amy and Megan.

Gresh has received the endorsement of El Paso County Commissioner Douglas Bruce, author of the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights.
