TO ALL THOSE SIGNING ON TO RLC-ACTIVISM: Let me introduce the
subject topic here to solicit possible inputs from a wide variety
and large number of potentially interested RLC members nationwide.
Bill Westmiller, national RLC Chairman, has taken first crack at
drafting a booklet to inform, enable and guide RLC activism in the
GOP, defined as RLC members "gaining influence within the (GOP)
party structure." The first draft is easily accessible via the RLCNH
      web page (www.rlcnh.org).

Note that the document is thusfar organized around 8
headings: "Getting Started, Visibility, Collect Information, Meet &
Greet, Become Valuable, Know the Rules, Reach Out and Set
Priorities. Remarks, notes of experience or other inputs on these
topics would be gratefully received and help to flesh out or
otherwise improve the draft. Other sections, not yet developed,
might include information on various types of activism, with respect
to local GOP committees and clubs, initiative & referendum
campaigns, local government or school boards, various issues,
campaign finance reform, media, use of the Internet
and "blogosphere," interest groups; families, age groups and the
life cycle and GOP organizational bylaws and party platforms.

The above categories are suggestive; don't feel constrained by them.
The key question is: WHAT ARE THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF RLC MEMBERS
THAT A BOOKLET TO ENABLE RLC ACTIVISM SHOULD ADDRESS? What are you
looking for or would like to find in such a booklet? Please let us
know and help spark input from others. Any notes that can "inform,
enable and guide" RLC activism in the GOP would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your answers to the question in caps, plus
other submissions and suggestions. Note that "activism" is important
to virtually any issue that may be a subject of discussion in our
      group.

PETER BEARSE, Ph.D., Director of RLC Activism and Moderator of
this page, GOP Team Leader and member of the NH GOP Platform
      Committee.
