This group list is for those who are looking for REAL home school support. You know , support of the nitty gritty stuff that most folks would like to ignore exists. Like medeling grandparents, neighbors, in-laws, aunts , uncles; non-supportive spouses, friends, teachers, principals, other school personnel ; dealings with CPS/ DSS/ DYFS, and police, etc?? The fact remains is that not all of us were *blessed* with such wonderful, all- accepting or supportive relatives, neighbors, or school personnel of our decision to home educate. If you have suffered adversity, opposition , disagreement, or skepticism of your choice to home school [ in any shape or form]...and need a place to vent, seek advice from more experienced home- schoolers, have support to offer; share your gripes, your woes ,your worries, your experience overcoming opposition and adversity - while giving and recieving REAL support and encouragement- then this is the place for you. It doesn't matter what your religious beliefs are, methods or approach to teaching, educational philosophies, or political beliefs. All that matters is that you have chosen to educate your children at home and there are folks out there who are either actively or passively opposing you or agressively disagreeing with you- which makes your job even harder and can sometimes make you feel rather isolated and alone - even among your fellow local homeschoolers. Our goal here is so everyone can be heard and to offer REAL Home school support. We should strive to respect one another's views and opinions, so that we can better understand those outside our realm. Challenging those opinions is accepted as long as it is done in the spirit of personal growth or desire to help another achieve same. I reserve the right to delete any post I deem inappropriate. List guidelines: NO FLAMING, NO SWEARING/ABUSIVE LANGUAGE,NO SPAMMING, NO Fwd JOKES, NO SELLING/ WTB POSTS.Keywords- Homeschool, home school, homeschooling, home educate, unschooling.
