Hello, I have just sent in request to ftdna to start a Marksberry DNA project. We think that the surname has two possible origins. The first origin is thatryanmarksberry
Good luck with getting a copy printed, Connie! The variants that are colored red are those variants that are located in the problematic 125bp repeat region ofcts5601_fgc4150_cts7080_fgc4161
Hi Eldon, These guys are all the Next-gen testees below Z8, including Big-Y and FGC (Full Genomes Corp.). The guys in the the red boxes are the FGC testees.cts5601_fgc4150_cts7080_fgc4161
Population geneticists have established over the last couple of decades that the largest haplogroup among men of European ancestry is R1b-M269. In the last several years, scientific studies and test results from Geno 2.0 and Family Tree DNA have indicated that the subclade defined by U106/S21 represents about 13% of the DNA testing community.
As part of our effort to further knowledge of the haplogroup and its subclades, one of the main points of discussion is advice on SNP testing (FTDNA and YSEQ.net) and especially NGS Y-DNA testing (Big Y and Full Genomes, aka FGC). Through the sharing of SNP test results and Big Y and FGC tests and analysis, we have made and will continue to make significant progress in discovering new subclades. Progress in this field of research depends entirely on the voluntary sharing of our DNA results data. We do encourage those with Big Y and FGC results and analysis to upload that data to our Files section for sharing with and analysis by others.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND IF YOU CHOOSE TO PROVIDE US WITH DNA RAW DATA FROM ANY SOURCE, BY YOUR OWN CHOICE, YOU HAVE GRANTED PERMISSION TO PLACE IT INTO THE PUBLIC DOMAIN. IT'S THEN SUBJECT TO USE BY OTHERS WHO MAY WISH TO PRESENT IT DIFFERENTLY ELSEWHERE.
This group will also discuss theories about the geographic origin and current day distribution of R1b-U106. The group is also a place to share genealogy research and possibly make connections with distant cousins, both in genealogical and deep ancestry time frames.
