I havent kept up with the recent developments in the R-312 project. I had the Deep Clade test before P-314.2 was available. Should I request this now? If so, what would it tell me?
Within our surname project (PATE, kit 71161,MHRU3 on ysearch) there are approx 29 (not all are in ysearch) men who match closely.None of these others have Deep Clade tested. We dont fit any modal. Could this be considered a cluster?
Any explanation or advice would be appreciated!

        Brenda,

P314.2 is downstream of L21+. Are you L21+ or L21-? If you are L21-, I don't recommend this test.

        Regards,
        Mike

            Elizabeth,

You are in the right Yahoo Group.  This is for P312* (P312+ L21- U152- SRY2627-) discussions.  Since your uncle is L21- you should not consider P314.2 for stand-alone testing.   You might consider L238, L176.2 and L165 though.

You can look at the R-P312andM153 haplotypes spreadsheet in the Files section of this Yahoo group to see the kind of haplotypes that have L238, L176.2 or L165.

            Regards,
            Mike

Sorry Mike, I had it backwards. I am L21+ and the only test that shows available is L314.2. I am in several projects, should I drop this one? Brenda

                Brenda,

"71161 2) Emanuel C. Pate, b. 1822, Tennessee" doesn't look to be P314.2, but you can never know until test. I think in your case, it would be more valuable for you to upgrade to 67 markers. It's hard to place people in a cluster in R-L21 without 67 markers.

                Regards,
                Mike
