Group Description

The story began in May 2000, when a group of vibrant youth established “Community Service” initiative at The University of Jordan Alumni Club, to improve graduates’ life and professional skills through engaging them in non-formal education and voluntary work activities. The growing misunderstanding between people around the world, particularly after the world Trade Center tragedy, has expanded our mission to include building peace and intercultural understanding among nations. We believe that peace is a global and dynamic process of cooperation between governments, NGO’s and people. Thus we encourage people to people work and treat everyone is a citizen of our globe.
With our global mission, we established Quested Peace in June 2003 as a non-for-profit, self-organized group, locally rooted in our traditions and commitment to helping our community, and globally connect our endeavors for the creation of a more peaceful world. Quested Peace is connected with the United Religions Initiative (URI); a global organization committed to promoting enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to ending religiously motivated violence, and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings. For further information about URI, please visit www.uri.org and www.urimena.org.
