- Tender, delicate gossamer wings of melody spin out of acoustic trumpet and
acoustic guitar, made more solid by tendrils of ring-modulated effects, and
electronic rhythms that pitter-patter, never overpowering the mood with
ostentatious thumping. And then there are the multi-layered keyboards, often
digital piano, sometimes just phrases, sometimes just inserts.
This is not an album of big, slick, powerful beats, so get that thought of
your mind and focus on what there is inside this release: organic feeling,
arranged in such a way as to be reminiscent of folk pop and alternative pop.
No fancy productions here. Listen to *"D Kitt" *(track 4) and you will find
a beautiful and frail *nouveau pop *that radio may never touch but which is
sure to win hearts of discerning internet listeners everywhere. Or get lost
in the short meandering piano of track 1 "*Pawlow*" where amateur classical
musician meets digital cut-n-paste artist.
What *FRERK* feels like is this: a bedroom artist of the 21st century
putting together a soundtrack for an independent film about his own dyslexic
family and dystopian hometown, made using the tools at his disposal: guitar,
trumpet, digital workstation, and sleepless nights under the glare of the
