Group Description
A Family Roots Search, sharing and discussion group for those researching the name of Pybus.
The name Pybus is apparently derived from 'Pykebuske' and meant 'Pike in a Bush'
The largest concentration of Pybus's seem to have been in Yorkshire, so you might like the following:
Yorkshire Man's Coat of Arms.
"A Flea, A Fly, A Magpie and a Flitch of Bacon."
A flea will take a bite with any man
and so my lad will a Yorkshire man,
A fly will sup with any man
and so my lad will a Yorkshire man,
A magpie will steal from any man
and so my lad will a Yorkshire man,
A bacon flitch is no good till it's hung
and neither my lad is a Yorkshire man.
It is my opinion that this was written by a Lancastrian!!!
