November 30, 2007 Announcing 3C Media Solutions' 3rd Annual Student Film Festival
Entry Forms <http://www.3cmediasolutions.org/pdf/FilmFestEntryForm07.pdf> are now available online! Purpose: To encourage and reward students for achievements in video, film and broadcasting by distributing their work exclusively on the 3C Media Solutions Network and live web cast. And to award them industry standard products and services to further their education.
Eligibility: All entries must be student produced. Any student-produced entry completed in fulfillment of college course credit is eligible for competition. Faculty can act in an advisory capacity only.
Deadlines: The deadline for entries is Thursday, January 31, 2008. All entries must be submitted or postmarked on or before the deadline date in order qualify, unless an extension has been requested and granted by 3C Media Solutions.
Fees: The film and video festival is free to all California Community College students.
Submission of entries: Entries must be mailed, shipped or delivered for judging to the address as listed on the attached entry form, and must include this official entry form for the appropriate awards division.
Awards: All first, second and third place students will receive a certificate and their colleges will receive a plaque. All first place student winners will also be awarded an Avid Express Pro Academic Version editing software package. In addition, the winner of the Short Film Category will also receive a 4-Week Film Camera Rental Package from Pan vision. Best in Show will be awarded an Editor from Avid, Production Elements for Network Music and a Sound Effects Package from Hollywood Edge. All awards will be mailed to the college submitting the entries.
Judging: All entries will be judged by a team of media professionals, faculty, staff and student peers. Entries will be judged based on technical quality and content. The judges have the authority to determine that no entry is suitable as a winner in any category. Entries will not be judged for their length, but we do not guarantee that productions will be viewed in their entirety. Therefore, it is appropriate, and you are encouraged, to include a shot sheet with specific viewing suggestions for the judges. Finalists and winners will be announced in April 2008. Winning entries and selected finalists will air on 3C Media Solutions in the CCC Arts Hour in April 2008.
