for some reason little attention is given to the archaic
reindeer culture. during the ice-ages the culture of reindeer advanced far
south of its normal range. other nations had to adopt it to sustain life,
or were forced to migrate further south. those that did not, died.
they find traces of the reindeer culture in diverse places as
an aside, but i havent found a compilation that covers the entire era and
range. they were not as simple and primitive as one might think.
there have been found antler tools deep in mines, showing that some members
living in the ice-age were working metals. looking at the several ice-ages
that have occured in the last 192,000 years, we might expect there were several
periods when the reindeer culture was forced by conditions upon mankind.
so we cannot assume every antler tool is 12,000 years old. they should be
proofs of man using tools and weapons in england circa 700,000
years ago. alternately hunting megafauna, and tending reindeer.
