Group Description

Sri Ramana Maharshi brought us Self-Inquiry as a practice to realize the Absolute, to know that there is only Brahman, and Thou art That.

I was introduced to the teachings of Sri Ramana by Nome, with whom I have enjoyed satsang since 1990. Nome has made Ramana's teachings clear, and lit them up with his deep teaching. This is also true with the teaching of Sankara. Nome is not well known, he has resisted most efforts at publicity, preferring spiritual teaching to name and fame. In this group, I want to be able to make some of this teaching available, so that the spiritual practice of seekers can deepen through listening (or reading) to these teaching, reflection upon them, and deep meditation (Self-inquiry).

While Nome's teachings and Sri Ramana's, form the basis for my own practice, this group is open to all Self-inquiry teachings. We all love the Self. We should not let mere words separate us.

This group is dedicated to the actual practice of self inquiry. This is what Sri Ramana recommended. This is what Nome's teaching elucidates. We who practice are like explorers, exploring Within. We can support and encourage this inner exploration. It is hoped that this group can be a place where this happens.

I am just another seeker, as, I would imagine, are you. I have had the great good fortune to have a living teacher, who teaches Ramana’s Self-Inquiry. I also started really taking practice seriously about ten years ago. Now practice is a focus of so called “everyday life.”

Let this site not be about me, or you or any individual. Let it rather be directed to the nondual Being-Consciousness-Bliss that we are. Let its focus be non-objective.
