      I trailer my 12' and 14' with a Long Trailer model 600WCSG. Added 2
rollers to the trailer. Have a rachet strap that I use across the PB
to the trailer frame and I make it just snug with the PB on the
trailer. Made a rope and passed it throught the front eyes of the PB
and use the hand winch strap to secure the front of the PB to the
trailer. On the recommendation of the PB rep the gas motor and
trolling motor are in the truck not on the boat. Had the trailer up to
60 mph with no problem. Did look at Northern and Harbor Frieght but
their trailers require too much upkeep. Brought mine for $399.

Be sure they are rated high speed tires, many cheaper trailers compromise on this key quality component. This is especially important with smaller tires.

Harbor Freight and Northern Tools, I believe both offer an optional 12
inch tire for added service capability. I ordered mine without wheels, and
added 12 inch ones from Walmart. I have seen some heavy boats on the highway
with the 12 inch wheels. For under 1000 lbs, the tires are well within the
rating. One issue is for higher speeds, be sure they are balanced, just
            like a car tire.

I have a two inch hole at the bottom of the transom crease. Is there any way to repair that? I have heard that almost nothing sticks to polopropylyne. any ideas would be approciated. I have a boat of no use right now. Shoe goo works for a couple of weeks but I don't want to be caught in the middle of the lake when that gives way.

Some cracks developed in my plastic transom that I filled with
epoxy. The repair has held up for several trips.
                    I don't know about filling a two-inch "hole", but
epoxy works fine for two-inch cracks. I also used
moldable epoxy to repair damage caused by a motor with
mounting screws that were too high up, that might
                    work for holes.

If the hole is severe enough that there is concern that the
transom could actually buckle that might be a different matter,
                    and beyond simple repair.

there any way to repair that? I have heard that almost nothing
sticks to polopropylyne. any ideas would be approciated. I have a
boat of no use right now. Shoe goo works for a couple of weeks but
I don't want to be caught in the middle of the lake when that gives
                    way.

Shoe goo works for a couple of weeks but
I don't want to be caught in the middle of the lake when that gives
                        way.

Ahhh...glad you all are talking about this. We have a brand new 14' . As we were packing the boat up I noticed the transom drained water from one of the seams. There was probably 3-4 Tablespoons of water after having the boat out for 4 hours. Hmmm... what does anyone think?

This was only our fourth trip with it. Other than that, we our having a blast with our new bote. :-)

                            Hi Lindy,

I'm certain that your bote is fine. While water may travel up and through the black tubing
that does not mean it got in your bote that way. The black tubing is meant to protect the
seams. I too have a 14' & when I see a small amount of water in it, it is likely from any one
of the rear holes that we plug up for the transom or transom wings. make sure you have
proper rubber washers for them. If you lose one, you can alway go to Lowes or Home
Depot in the plumbing section and pick up a set of small black washers.

                            Regards,

                            Gazmn

Boat (12ft) less than 1 yr old. Never kept in the sun. Also used
Armorall as recommended. They appeared to be stress cracks
from flexing caused by the 6hp Tohatsu motor. Epoxy appears
to have stopped the cracks from spreading. Not sure they
could have been prevented other than perhaps by using less
horsepower. Transom still seems structually sound.

When the boat is out of the water I hose it down with fresh water and run fresh water though the tubes. I prop the boat up and let all water drain from the tubes. Water left over is common as what I have learned. Sometimes the screws that have the rubber gaskets will loosen and water will come into the PB. I tighten all screws before the PB goes into the water and check the screws when the PB is on the water. After the PB has dried off I spray Amourall in the keel rubber tube and all outside surfaces. I found out that the boat remains very dry inside when the PB is on the water when I do this.

I have modified several of the small utility trailers from Harbor
Freight into boat trailers for fresh water use! They are often put
on sale for $149.99 with 8" tires(I suggest upgrading to 12"
tires). I replace the factory trailer
tongue with a 2"x3" x 14', this tongue runs completely under trailer
bed (centrline) from rear to front and welded at all contact
points. You could probably use trailer u-bolts inlieu of welding.
Then all new material and weld area is primed/painted.

I make/purchase bunk brackets made for 2x4's 6' long which are
carpeted, add one or two rollers mounted on trailer tongue, then a
winch post/winch added and your trailer is now ready.

Under NO circumstance do I suggest you exceed 55mph with 8" tires,
nor 60mph with 12" tires. No disrespect to those who want to balance
trailer tires, but there is no evidence that balancing trailer tires
have any added benefit other than costing YOU money. The tow
vehicle cannot "feel" any difference of the "tow" whether the tires
are balanced or not, nor will the boat ride any better on the
                                    trailer! Proper weight distribution/tire pressure/bearing
lubrication is a requirement for safe trailering. Read below!

The biggest problem presented to trailers, and compounded for boat
trailers is "bearing grease wash out"! This happens when water
seeps around the "axle seal" or "bearing protector" and dilutes the
grease, your bearings then overheat, then "seize up" causing one or
                                    more of the following:
                                    1. Tire fire/traier fire/boat fire?
                                    2. Hub/wheel seperates from axle stub.
                                    3. Wreck/crash, etc..

So bearing protectors with a zerk grease fitting are mandatory to
keep bearing lubricated at all times!

Also proper tire inflation is the biggest reason of tire failure.
Most of the 8" tires require 60psi cold! Read/abide by tire
                                    requirements stamped on tires!

They sell something called ETERNABOND roof repair tape which the
manufacturer claims will provide a waterproof seal on RV roofs and
POND liners(can be used under water). Tape is expensive ($60 for
                                      4inch by 50 foot roll).
I just ordered a roll to try and seal a leaking auto roof. I dont
know if it will stick to the poly material OR if its flexible
enough.. but the mfg states will NOt stick to silicone but will
stick to most other material. I emailed both Best Material and the
manufacturer with questions regarding my leaking roof before
ordering. Both were very helpful and responded quickly to very
specific questions that I had. As I said I don't know if this will
help but its worth an email or two.
If you like I'll let you know how my roof patch works out (once done
and after a good rain). If you go this route I'd be interested in
                                      the result. GOOD LUCK -rb

I DO NOT know if this will work but try contacting
                                        www.eternabond.com
                                        www.bestmaterials.com ( a less expensive price)
