Petrhead list/1841 census
Thanks for the latest posting and offers of a look up of the 1841 censusand
the researchers' page on the Peterhead genealogy page.
You did a look up of the 1851 census for me and came up with the names of
some of my gggrandfather Thomas Baron Leslie's siblings. As Eliza was
missing from that census then there may well have been others who had left
home between a 1841 census and the 1851 one.
Thomas's father was also Thomas Leslie, born Longside c1796, married to
Bridget Dowling, born Ireland c1806. As son Joseph was born in Longside in
1839 and daughter Bridget born in Peterhead c1845, I guess they moved down
the road to Peterhead some time in between these dates. My ggrandfather's
death certificate lists his father Thomas as a tailor but in the marriage
register of daughter Eliza in 1855, he is listed as being a bookseller.
If there were any other children besides Ellen, Eliza, Mary, Thomas, Joseph
and Bridget, it would be good to know.
My research interest is:
Lyttelton, New Zealand
Many thanks for all the hard work Wade.
