Ref. your question about the Church of Scotland in Peterhead.
The "Parish" Church is the one called (surprisingly !) the OLD PARISH CHURCH
or the "Muckle Kirk" to those of us from Peterhead. This is a Church of
Scotland Presbyterian Church.
There are other Church of Scotland Churches in the town :
1) St.Andrews Church (On the corner of Queen Street &
2) West Associate Church (not sure if it has still retained
that title) on St.Peter's Street.
But, as I said above, the OLD PARISH CHURCH would be the one you are

Thankyou very much for your E-Mail about the Peterhead
Parish.., It was most helpful.
Where are the Records for the Old Parish Church held ? And
can you get them.
If so can you please look to see if there is any of my KEAN
FAMILY ON THEM PLEASE?
Ann Kean married James Benzie at Peterhead on the 25/4/1875.
and the Latter Day Saints Family History Records
say Church of Scotland Peterhead Parish.
Ann Kean was the only living daughter of Robert Kean and
Helen Scott Kean . and Sister of my great grandfather.
Others of this family born in Peterhead were
Jane Thom kean born 1843[ died 11/12/1849
Gordon [c] 10 july 1848[ peterhead aberdeen
Duncan[c] 4 july 1850[ peterhead aberdeen
Andrew[c] 26 april 1852 peterhead aberdeen
Ann [c] 2 august 1854 peterhead aberdeen
NOW BACK TO THE CHURCHS
Looking threw notes I see
Robert Kean [junior] died 19/2/1912 - [ AT 47 QUEEN STREET
PETERHEAD[ AGED 75]
And Joseph Kean died 20/4/1931- [ AT 348 HOLBURN
STREET ABERDEEN [ AGED 67
BOTH BURIED IN THE CONSTITUTION STREET CEMETERY
And so may be they went to St Andrews being close to where
some of them lived . others lived in Erroll Stret
IT WHOULD BE GREAT IF SOMEONE CHOULD LOOK THE PAPERS FOR
DEATH NOTICE AT SOME STAGE
