For Betty Holmes :
The only people I have a record of in Lair E252 are as follows :
David Horrie Age 65 Buried Dec.30th.1840 Commander R.N.
John Ogston Age 52 Buried Aug.17th.1846 Shipmaster
but there may be more people in the Lair since I only tend to note down "shipmasters" from the burial records. It's a pity I hadn't known last week because I was up in Peterhead and could have called into the Registrar to look at the Lair Registers.
There are another two Lairs (A200 & A201) owned by "Ogston & Hay - Seamen". In Lair A201 is a Williamina Ogston, Aged 40, buried on Feb.21st.1845.
As far as Robert Ogston's Death Certificate is concerned (232/1 Entry 28), you would normally purchase a copy from the Registrar in Arbuthnot House, Peterhead. However, if you just want the details, I have previously transcribed them. They are as follows :
Robert Ogston Aged 79 years Retired Shipmaster
Date of Death : Feb.7th.1911 Place of Death : 65 King Street, Aberdeen
Married to : Sophia Anderson
Father : John Ogston, Shipmaster (Deceased) Mother : Williamina Ogston (Anderson) (Deceased)
Cause of Death : Carcinoma of lip and lower jaw
Informant : C.F.Mills ?? (Wasn't very clear) Relationship : Son-in-Law
Let me know if I can help you further............Best Regards, Alex Ritchie
