Group Description

This group is devoted to non-hunt/field performance events for German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs). Focus will be on training tips, brags, general performance information, and related topics. Anticipate Obedience and Agility to be main focus, but tracking, flyball, and games will be allowed. This is for all organizations (AKC, NADAC, UKC, USDAA, etc). Although important to our breed, discussions on general rescue, hunt, field and conformation, are appropriate for other groups and not this list. Only brags in these areas on performance GSPs will be allowed.

Litter Announcements are allowed on Performance GSPs by non-moderated members only. One post per litter is allowed, and for that single post either the dam or sire owner can post. Either the Sire or Dam must have an agility, obedience, rally, tracking, or flyball title of some kind. Exceptions for litters not meeting this criteria should be communicated to the moderators. Both of your moderators believe strongly in full health testing, but the minimum requirement will be OFA or Penn-Hip certification (or contact us) on both the sire and the dam. We strongly encourage additional minimal testing for heart, eyes, CD, and Thyroid.

For dogs or litters in rescue needing placement, posts noting the location and details of the rescue GSP (including GSP mixes) can be posted one time -- the candidate must be a promising young dog that demonstrates performance and training potential. In either case, all replies must be private. We ask that no public comments (even congratulations) be returned on these types of posts.
