Tolong disebarkan ke teman-teman, baik mahasiswa S1 or S2 ya :D

(Please share this info to other friends ya!)

PS : Sekedar informasi, saya menjadi salah satu peserta program ini untuk tahun 2010 (AsTW 2010).
Nah, jika ada teman2 yang berminat untuk mengikuti seleksinya, bisa tanya-tanya ke saya via email ini.

      ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW)

is a 2-week international program focused on ASEAN studies and Asian languages & cultures, and is designed for university students from around the world. Kyushu University (Japan) and Mahidol University (Thailand), two of most prestigious universities in Asia, have co-organized the program with the strong support from the ASEAN Secretariat. The medium of instruction is English

The 2011 session of AsTW will convene
      from March 11, 2011 to March 25, 2011
at Salaya Campus, Mahidol University,in Thailand

      Application deadline: November 30, 2010.

      Structure of AsTW

AsTW consists of three parts: ASEAN Studies courses (ASC)Asian Languages & Cultures (ALC) and Field Trips, providing students with a unique study opportunity. Students select any one of morning ALC classes and one of the three afternoon ASC classes.

ASC gives AsTW a distinction as a comprehensive academic program of ASEAN issues that increasingly play an important role in the world and “ASEAN+3” relations.

Students will broaden their knowledge and gain deeper understanding about ASEAN and “ASEAN+3” cooperation through ASC taught by professors from Mahidol University, Kyushu University, and throughout ASEAN and East Asia. A valuable part of the program is that the students will be able to approach ASEAN and East Asia topics from various points of view. In addition, students will be able to select one of the three intensive Asian language programs. The combination of ASC and ALC contributes to the students’ synthetic understanding of ASEAN and East Asia.

A series of Thai culture field trips is another attractive part of the program. Each excursion is planned in the expectation that students are able to experience some part of Thai culture and the Thai aesthetic sense.

To complete AsTW, students must take 2 courses (one ALC and one ASC). Students who complete AsTW will be awarded a certificate jointly signed by the Presidents of Kyushu University and Mahidol University.

A scholarship will be awarded by Kyushu University to some students from ASEAN countries who have a strong academic record. The ASEAN countries include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The scholarship award process will be on a competitive basis with an emphasis on applicants that can contribute the most to multi-cultural dynamics in and outside of the classroom. Officials from both Kyushu University and Mahidol University will make the scholarship selection just after the application deadline, November 30, 2010.
