TRUSTWORTHY AMONG CHRISTIAN AND MUSLIM
IN POSO, CENTRAL CELEBES
Wednesday, May 6, 2009
12.30 pm – 2.30 pm (free lunch)
Room 306, Third floor, UGM Graduate
Jln. Teknika Utara Pogung Yogyakarta
conflict in Poso brought a huge negative impact into the Sintuwu Maroso land.
The catastrophe triggers a couple of youth from Christian and Muslim sides to
meet together created a center called Youth Center
(Komite Kaum Muda). Youth
Center is the media of
paradigm shift among
youth communities. Activities that conducted by Youth Center
put youth Muslim and Christian into contact which is at the end, transform
their image from enemy image to friendly image.
lays the concept of hope within society who transforms the image from antipathy
toward into sympathy for. The effort not only belongs to religious leaders but
also all adherents who are able to initiate peaceful relation among people,
including youth community.
Youth Center took
major part in building peaceful relationship in the midst of Poso society. When
there is no such a trustworthy rubicon (bridge) of peace in terms of culture,
politics as well as religion, Youth
Center offered a sort of
useful bridge for community.
