Group Description

Welcome to PattersonGenealogyNC, a Forum and mailing list for those who are researching their Patterson ancestors from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia.

If your Patterson ancestors were from this region, or you think they were, then join us, and share your Patterson line with us, and perhaps you will find the answers you’ve been seeking, and perhaps find a few “long lost cousins”.

Happy hunting, and I hope this forum helps you find those missing links in your search!

The homepage picture is a picture owned by Corey Patterson. Here are the details of Corey's relationship with Jim Patterson. im Patterson was the son of Henry Patterson and Elizabeth Waldrop. He was born in 1866 in Spartanburg County SC. He died on 15 Apr 1940 in Cross Anchor, SC. He was first married to Emma Brown (1870-1909). He then married Nancy Watson. Children, all with Emma, were Elizabeth Pearl, Tillman (my gg-GF), Oscar, Henry Clayton, Hattie Agnes, Nora, and Ethel. I do not know who his fathers parents were. Henry's civil war record says he was born in Edgefield District, SC, but some rumors says he was born in NC. Henry was also married to Moss Johnson (1st), and Eldora Reeves last. Also believed to have had a son William with a Lizzie Morris, who was a neighbor. One of Henry's daughters ended up marrying Lizzie's husband Nimrod after she passed away.
I have DNA tested at family tree. Match up with West Patterson, and J D Patterson descendants along with a Whitehead and a Williams. Also a Reeves but it has been determined they are Henry and Eldora reeves descendants.
