hello again to all!
i'm sorry about the multi-posting noise caused by my announcement. i
was confused by the non-immediate response of the list to my first
posting for i hadn't posted to the panotools list for a long time.
now i know, that there should be a little bit patience in this list
before a new message shows up ;-)

this mail wasn't primarily intended as an advertisement and of course
_not_ meant as offending spam. i'm sorry, mike, but if you take your
complaint literally you should never mention canon, nikon, sigma,
kaidan etc. in this list. everything you say positively about a
branded product is an advertisment ;-)
i'm a member of both the apple qtvr list and the proj-imim (and now
panotools) list since at least 5 years and one important reason of my
announcement was to give back something to the community from which
i've learned a lot from in the beginning!
as all of you know, the most resources about panorama production are
online and every beginner must find a way of his/her own to get the
information he needs. besides a few chapters in some photoshop- or
quicktime books there are only the german book by corinna jacobs and
the old qtvr book by susan kitchen (as far as i know), if you wish a
comprehensive, structured tutorial resource. when i think back to my
first steps in qtvr and panotools i would have been happy about such
a tutorial. so i was glad about the opportunity i got from
addison-wesley to produce such a title.
on the dvd of course i'm covering panotools and poeple and software
which have their roots here in the panotools community. relating to
this you can indeed see it as an avertisment: for panorama making and
for the best community i know dealing about this subject!
