      plugin. Yes, Apple is a Java SE Licensee, so they have access to the product
      source code and they have produced all the versions of Java that run on Mac. Sun
      has worked closely with them over the years.

      There are other Licensees as well, a few example: IBM for AIX and HP for HPUX.
      Both have the same access, and both do a great job with keeping the JRE/JDK
      current on their systems.
