      Punt is good for making panoramas because you can set it to "mouse look"
      mode -- rather than the orbit mode which is standard for the others. So
      by generating a view straight down (press the Space bar) you have a
      known angle available for stitching. Then you can point the camera
      different places and grab enough screen shots to cover the entire view.
      If you make sure the sequence has plenty of overlapping areas between
      the successive shots PTGui seems to be able to stitch it fine. This
      panorama I made from about 15 shots with the camera set to about 75
      degrees (Alt + +/- to change fov)
      Having a hi res monitor (1920 by 1200 here) helps to get a sharp result
      in relatively few shots.
