Group Description

This group is for people interested in the Palomino Rabbit, which comes in two varieties, Golden and Lynx. You can post on this Newsletter if you have questions about the breed or are looking for some Palominos or would like to share a story, advice, or answer a question about the breed. The Palomino Rabbit is one of the few truly American Rabbits as it was developed right here in the old USA by Mr. Youngs of Washington State. The Palomino, as developed by Mark Youngs, is a commercial typed rabbit weighing 8 to 10 #s for the Sr. bucks and 9 to 11#s for the Sr. does. The Golden variety is a bright golden color with cream to white undercolor and the Lynx is a medium pearl gray over orange-beige intermediate color witha white base color, giving it a dusty gold appearance.
Please share any anecdotes you may have about raising, breeding, showing and how you got started in rabbits and Palominos with the group. Feel free to ask questions if you have a problem and we will try to give you an upright answer. You can also post any for sale Palominos and be sure to say where you live as in city and state, since it is good to know if we are nearby and can pick up a rabbit from you. This group is not limited to Palomino Club members only, but the National site has a website where you may join the club for under $10 per year for a newsletter and listing of Sweepstakes Points you get at the rabbit shows. The website is: http://www.geocities.com/Petsburgh/Park/4198
You may want to join using the daily newsletter choice since the individual one does not organize the emails and will overload your inbox, perhaps ;-) Enjoy!
