I was put in this situation, by nothing I had done
A situation where I see things, no human being should
I am in a scenario, where men try to solve their problems by the point of a gun
This place, if I could flee I surely would.

This big iron ship that I am destined to be on, I'm here because I was a victim of the draft
But I grew up very fast, I am no longer innocent, because of the things I have seen
Men being blown to pieces, by this iron ship, after a battle, looking over the side of the ship, the enemy, so many die, you can see survivors trying to survive in the ocean on a raft
It's like this big iron ship, from the ocean, the entire sea, from here we extinguish the enemy, the ocean we must clean.

So here I am in the middle of the ocean, by no choice of my own
I am just eighteen, I should be enjoying my life, instead of being here in the ocean, aboard this big iron ship
Out here on the ocean so blue, my fear of the grim reaper has only grown
Here on the seven seas, soon I would take a different kind of trip.

Living on this ship, is like a town cruising through the deep blue sea
We each living separate lives, among the war and blood shed we must witness and see
This life of solitude, out here in the middle of no where, we all pay a tremendous fee
Most of us were chosen to do our duty, we would not dare from this ship flee.

On this particular day, going about our lives, soon things would drastically change
Each of us going about our lives, until some thing happens we really weren't prepared for
An attack we weren't expecting, for a lot of us our lives were permentally rearranged
A bomb, this was the cause for the grim reaper, the bomb opened the door.

I was one of the ones, that tragically lost their life on that day
Now like many others, my soul cannot rest, because with death our souls were met
Now this iron ship forever the ground where we forever work, forever play
See, we are of the crew of the USS Hornet.
