The meter is bad, the rhymes are forced to the point of bursting, but
that's what you get when you determine that each line has to end with
the same letter it started with. Call it prose poetry.... yeah that's
      the ticket! ;-)

      New Gods

      By Terry McCombs

Cthulhu, Hastur, Elder Things, Yog-Sothooth, perfect for those who's
      worship runs horrific.

Haunted planet's goblins & ghouls, Nessi, Moth-Man, Bigfoot drool. Real
      world's Monkey wrench?

Anime, Spirited Away & Princess Mononoke. Even more than Buddha brings
      Asia to America.

Oz to modern the mind enlists, the contemplation of Fairy land's bliss,
oddest twist it rides in on a tornado.

Star Trek changes nerds to Klingons & Vulcans, While in England Jedi
appear not just in Star Wars.

Music has always charmed, till blue light born Elvis left the farm a
      Mississippi Rock totem.

Aliens & UFOs sometimes hot sometimes cold. Government agenda or outer
      space Utopia?

Ghastly vampires, fetish, cult or religion, someday resolved by
      attrition or perhaps bloodletting.

Icons in another place dwell, beyond taste or smell, killed by ennui
      feed by our mind's stimuli.

Christianity now the new old religion? Once called holy becoming
      demonic? Ironic.

Kal-El son of Jor-El new messiah? Go to Metropolis the tomb is bare! Red
      & blue streak.
