      The Goblin King

      Her dreams follow the farie folk below ground

      where the goblin men live, the sound

      of their dark chants breaks the spell

      of the enchanted girls heart felt love; tale

      of tales, the swarthy race gleans the glamours:

      casts the magic circle round her thrice,

      and feeds her troubled soul the embittered fruit of paradise;

      from morn to dusk, from spring to winters snowy fens

      they hawk their ancient wares from glen to glen:

      the fruit of foul lands bent under the dark lords rule;

      where the beasties lie, in the black murk below Dagdas Tor;

      yet, not all fall victim to the goblins curse:

      some there are who have seen their beastie eyes,

      lived to tell the tale: the broken minds of men

      who wander in the deep black mines below Devons Golden Hall;

      they could say, - but they will not tell;

      for they know the darker woe that comes to those

      who speak a goblins name aloud;

      the moment when the human eye turns wild,

      and from the human guise a new born goblin rises:

      once again the goblin king returns: slayer and slain, one.
