It happens only in India : Person gets clean chit by self-appointed ‘Judicial Commission’!

Misuse of retired judges chosen and appointed by none other than the person under scanner to seek a sort of ‘judicial’ clean chit has made mockery of rule of law in India when such-appointed retired judges forgot that they were retired (and not sitting) judges and had no power to summon police-officials for a style of probe imitated by BCCI Chief N Srinivasan! What more, a person having held post of Union Law Minister is amongst those BCCI members who unanimously endorsed such an unlawful clean chit for those accused in infamous IPL match-fixing. All such style of working in a body controlling money-minting cricket in India with heavyweights law-makers cutting across party-lines as its members with no check from government if allowed in ‘private’ bodies with Union government being a mute spectator, can turn country into a banana-republic where rules of self-governed bodies prevail rather than rule of law!

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh should exhibit courage by immediate control of such unlawful happenings in BCCI by immediately bringing BCCI and other sports-federations under government-control to be covered by RTI Act overruling all obstructions imposed by Union Cabinet Ministers attached to BCCI. To remove all confusions, ordinance should have provision that sports-bodies using name ‘Indian team’ and government-facilities including land may automatically be declared public-authorities under RTI Act.
