  • Sorry this is not a direct letterpress question, but I'm hoping there might be some info about Crane Palette to share. I'm on and urgent hunt for Crane Palette cover 130+ lb in coral. A couple of my regular sources are having trouble getting their hands on it and I can't even find it online. I've of course spent too much time looking and waiting on replies that I'm running out of...

  • we have the same problem now and then and i posted a similar question. we've found the moisture to be key and keep the plates in nice quality plastic bags. after printing, just add a warm breath into the bag and seal it up...the moisture from your breath seems to be enough to help keep the moisture in. --- On Thu, 4/8/10, typetom@^$1 wrote: From: typetom@^$2 Subject: Re...

  • i scan my calligraphy in at 600 dpi. make sure the dots on all of the i's, j's, etc. are large enough that they don't get lost. make sure the artwork is 100% black and change it to a bitmap for ordering. check your hairlines and dots again in bitmap format. that's it! --- In PPLetterpress@^$1, engrossersscript@^$2.. wrote: > > > I am?a calligrapher - so what if I want to write my...

  • Going back to a recent post of ours about our soy inks changing colors - I finally found time to call our supplier, Gans, and ask some questions. We had pin pointed that all of the problem colors contain reflex blue, which our contact said is very sensitive. He said it's sensitive in any medium, whether we use soy or oil. He thinks it is the reflex blue in combination with the...
