Re: [PPLetterpress] The Stouffer Scale
- A stouffer step scale is a precision exposed piece of continuoue tone
film presenting a series of steps of calibrated density. It appears to
be a number of rectangular patches of gray.
In use you expose it to your plate and find which step develops solidly
and adjust your exposure accordingly. The instructions will probably be
in the instruction book that comes with your exposure system and also
in the technical doccumentation for yur plate material.
This is a critical step in making good plates.

Pagan, Pagan, what are you finding?
Yours is the road that winds lonely and far,
Strange are the shadows that round you come creeping,
Still through the clouds is the glint of a star!
