      THE CENTER FOR BOOK ARTS HOSTS SPECIAL EVENTS IN CONCERT WITH NEW YORK IS
      BOOK COUNTRY FESTIVAL

      New York, NY - The Center for Book Arts will host a series of special
      events in concert with New York is Book Country festival the week of
      September 15th. The events include:

      * 2003 Instructors Exhibition Reception: Wednesday, September 17, 6 - 8 PM.

      * Bookworks by CBA Instructors - the show closes September 23rd

      * Publication Party and Reading: Radiance & Repose, Thursday, September 18,
      7 - 9 PM.

      * First publication of Z'roah, the fine press of Roni Gross and Peter
      Schell, featuring poetry of Brooklyn based poet Gerry Gomez Pearlberg.

      * Moved to Remember: Determination Against Hate Violence Reception, Friday
      September 19, 6:30 - 8:30PM. This multi-media assemblage of photos,
      artwork, quotes, stories and expressions is a living testament to those who
      have died and those who survive. This one of a kind book was created by
      Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays (PFLAG) members across the nation
      who are still grieving, struggling and striving for a world free of hate.
      The book will be on display in the Center's foyer September 19 through
      October 18.

      * Fall Open House: Saturday September 20, 11AM- 4PM. Visit the Center for
      Book Arts and see book projects in action with demonstrations in
      bookbinding, letterpress printing and paper arts, plus our 2003 Instructors
      Exhibition, raffle prizes and refreshments. FREE. A New York is Book
      Country Event.

      NEW YORK IS BOOK COUNTRY - Sunday September 21, 11AM - 5PM. Visit the
      Center's booth at the annual festival on Fifth Avenue. FREE.

      ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BOOK ARTS

      The Center for Book Arts is dedicated to the preservation of the
      traditional crafts of bookmaking, as well as encouraging contemporary
      interpretations of the book as an art object. Founded in 1974, it was the
      first not-for-profit organization of its kind in the nation. The Center
      organizes exhibitions related to the art of the book and offers an
      extensive selection of educational courses, workshops and seminars in
      traditional and contemporary bookbinding, letterpress printing, fine press
      publishing, and other associated arts. The Center for Book Arts is
      supported by local businesses, various foundations including the Lenrow
      Fund, the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation, the NY State Council on
      the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and its members.

      The Center is located at 28 West 27th Street, on the 3rd floor, between 6th
      Avenue and Broadway. To get to the Center by train, take the N, R to 28th
      Street and Broadway; the F to 23rd Street and 6th Avenue; or the 1 or 9 to
