      Hi all,
I'm posting this announcement for someone without access to the list.
Anyone interested in attending (or learning the meaning and correct
pronunciation of "rur-burb") should follow the links at the end of the
      notice. -Paul

The Northern California Chapter of the American Printing History
      Association announces a special meeting/barbecue:

      Saturday, September 6, 2003
      APHA goes "Monotype"

Patrick & Maxine Reagh invite APHA members and their guests to an afternoon
of barbeque & Monotype at their rur-burb acres in Sebastopol. Both the
grill and the Monotype caster (one of four from the Plantin Press) will be
fired up. Bring food to share and something for the grill.

Mr Reagh will publish _The Bibliography of The Plantin Press_ next spring,
letterpress from English Monotype, in Bembo and Fairbank Italic (Narrow
Bembo), the house style of Saul & Lillian Marks. See the proofs of this
important book that very day. Othmar Peters, monotypist extraordinaire &
former proprietor of Mackenzie & Harris, will be at the keyboard.

Please RSVP to John McBride, Chapter President, or you'll miss out on the
keepsake. His contact information for RSVP and directions to the meeting
      are online at:
