Re: [PPLetterpress] RE: Press Rescue: 10 x 15 C & P Chandler and Price Platen Press (Seattle-Tacoma)
- Don't use pipe rollers directly on 1/2" or thinner plywood unless the plywood is on a solid surface. The pipes may break thru thin plywood on a soft surface and dump the load. PLan carefully BEFORE moving stuff.Ed Weber aka Bin Dere, Done Dat.

If the press is on skids, you can move it over soft ground--grass, gravel, dirt--by laying down 2x6s as rails, or a path of plywood, shiftng as needed. This is a solid and functional base to move the press by pipe rollers.

It has a 220v motor and variable speed control, plus at least one chase. The rollers looked useable, but not great.Only the press is available; someone previously scooped up anything else of interest. Some dismantling is possible to reduce the weight, but complete disassembly is probably not an option. This press needs to be rescued before it begins to rain and the ground gets too soft to reach the pickup point—there is about 25 feet of grass to back over before reaching a cement patio.E-mail me for contact information.__
