The Ladies of Letterpress invite you to join us at the Ladies of
Letterpress Conference, August 2-5, 2012, Asheville NC.

The Ladies of Letterpress is a professional organization of
letterpress printers with over 1500 members worldwide. Building on the
outstanding success of last year’s conference, we are organizing the
second annual Ladies of Letterpress conference for August 2-5, 2012 to
be held in downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

Use it or Lose it: Preservation and Innovation in Letterpress Printing
is the only modern-day conference devoted entirely to letterpress
printing. Plans for the Ladies of Letterpress Conference are well
underway with an impressive lineup of speakers and panelists including
John Barrett (Letterpress Things), Harold Kyle (Boxcar Press), Kat
Feuerstein (Gilah Press), and Laura Zinger, director of the
letterpress documentary Proceed and Be Bold. The Lone Oak Press owner
Abigail Rorer, engraver, book-artist, and printer, will present the
      keynote address.

The conference will again focus on topics important to the letterpress
community: how to run a letterpress printing business, working with
stores and retailers, choosing the best paper for the printing
purpose, innovative methods of letterpress printing, and
sustainability in printing practices. Along with a diverse array of
panel presentations, attendees will enjoy an expanded Printers Fair
and Sponsor Exhibit and networking opportunities, a tour of Asheville
print shops, a screening of the documentary Proceed and Be Bold
followed by a Q&A with Laura Zinger and Amos Kennedy, and even a dance
party where you can show off your best printer-dance moves!
