At first I thought this was a promo for some reality show about marketing. Once I followed the link to the guy's site though I realized I'd fallen victim to his "I'm an obnoxious blow hard" marketing. Aside from that, his "business card" is in fact NOT a business card. A business card denotes a standard size printed item. Like letterhead or envelope or anything else we use names for to denote an industry common size or layout. That is after all why they call them standards. I wish I could tell Mr Rich Jerk that his promotional card, as nice as it is, would end up in the trash 98% of the time, right after everyone who thought they might need his services copied his contact information to, of all things, a rolodex card!

        Gerald,
His card is crap. Your business card is not an ad it is an information
device. Just like people who put too much in their e-mail signature file
they annoy REAL business people. His card doesn't belong anywhere but
your round file. He is an arrogant blowhard and his card shows it. It
has a pop-up - my 3 year old would love it.

First, if it does not fit in my card file, it is going to get lost. Secondly, I'm not interested in how fancy or expensive the card is, I want to know what the guy has to offer, and I can't determine that on the basis of a business card. The only thing I look for is the name (personal and company), address and phone nos.

we do put a lot of thought into our cards because we're designers and letterpress artists.  so the design has to be interesting and the paper has to be impressive and representative of what we offer.  oh and of course the press has to be high quality.  but i want people to put my card in their wallet and not to be irritated by the size!  so yeah, our card is 2 x 3.5 and that's fine with me!:)
p.s. the pop up made me laugh!

                          Hi Gerald and all,

I saw this clip a while back and was very entertained.

It made me think of the current vogue in wedding invitations to make them look more like promo packages for timeshares. But maybe the weddings themselves are more like stage shows, so it might be okay.

                          Barbara
