MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF MARINES' MEMORIAL:

We need you help to make San Francisco Fleet Week 2010 the best ever. You are Invited to a Benefit Performance to help us put on the Fleet Week. The Benefit Performance is the “ Sandy Hackett Rat Pack Show” The performance will be in the Marines’ Memorial Theater, Thursday,  JUNE 24, 2010 . 7:00 PM SHOW

      TICKETS: $50 PER PERSON
For tickets, go to www.marinesmemorialtheatre.com or call (415) 771-6900

The Honorary Co-Chairs for San Francisco Fleet Week 2010 are Senator Dianne Feinstein and Former Secretary of State George P. Shultz, a US Marine Veteran.

The 3rd Fleet is sending a task force of ships, to include a large deck amphibious assault ship (LHD), a cruiser, a destroyer, a Los Angeles Class submarine (USS San Francisco) and 3 Mine Counter Measure ships. The Marines will embark a Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force. Bay Area citizens will flock to San Francisco to visit US Navy and US Coast Guard ships; to pay tribute to the sailors and Marines serving in today's military; to compete in athletic activities such as military demonstrations, band concerts and the precision Blue Angels.

Fleet Week has evolved to serve an educational purpose for Bay Area governments and citizens. The presence of the Naval Services in port provides opportunities for the military to showcase the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief capabilities recently employed in Haiti after the earthquake.

Special events you can look forward to:

7/ 8 OCTOBER – Senior Leader Seminar with FEMA briefing current plans for use of military forces in disaster relief in the event of a natural disaster in the San Francisco . Bay Area Sports Competition. A Band Concert at Marines’ Memorial on Friday night and an address by the Commander, 3rd Fleet.

9 OCTOBER - Space Exhibit at Fort Mason; Ships getting underway for the Parade of Ships with setups on Marina Green with band concerts near the water midday and military band concert at Huntington Park in the evening, followed by a Fleet Week reception.

10 OCTOBER - Space Exhibit at Fort Mason ; Combined Italian Heritage/Fleet Week Parade involving marching Navy and Marine units with colors, military bands, a Fleet Week Grand Marshall, a Fleet Week Float (Space Capsule), and a band concert at Washington Square . The ships will be open for visitors.

11 OCTOBER - On Columbus Day, the ships will again welcome visitors and will feature band challenge with military and local high school musicians in Golden Gate Park .

We really need your help to make this Fleet Week successful. Please buy tickets and come to the Benefit Performance. TICKETS: $50 PER PERSON
