    Ahoy Members and Friends,
I have been in communications with Doug Crawford since the first week he came on board the NLUS HQ staff. He is helping us with maritime industry corporate memberships. I have given him more Metro Washington, DC, contacts than I can count - all potential guests to SAS and most of their organizations potential NLUS corporate members.
That does not mean there are not more. Maybe you have some contacts to whom the below would apply. Please assist. SAS is a big deal, not just NLUS but for all the Sea Services. Your immediate assistance is appreciated. As Dan Branch states, time is of the essence.
    Thanks - Heave Ho,

Subject: President's Circle and SAS Invitation Communication

This E-mail is for Navy League leaders about SAS and our efforts to invite community and business leaders to join us for the event.  Many of you have been in communication with Doug Crawford at HQ about this subject already, and you will find what you need to get out the word as you can.  I realize the time is short but in most cases there has already been informal communications with potential attendees.

I am asking that we the leaders of the Navy League send the following proposed email and attached documents to friends, associates, and business leaders in your community. The details of Navy League's 2010 Sea Air Space (SAS) maritime exposition have been finalized.

SAS 2010 has the finest venue, the best list of speakers, the most exhibitors, the largest number of registered attendees, and the most enjoyable and informative luncheons, receptions, and banquet in the 45 year history of SAS.

As you will see in the email template and attached SAS Program and President's Circle Program Description documents, this is an event and opportunity to enjoy the "greatest Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine show on earth".

Time is of the essence, as these activities all take place May 3-5, 2010 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center near Washington D.C. Please edit and forward this email to as many contacts as you can this week.

By doing so you will be educating them about what the Navy League does and how it is respected by our nation's leaders and businesses...and you may benefit by their attending and possibly thinking of stepping up their membership and donation levels for your councils and Navy League at large.
Some will have questions about this effort so please do not hesitate to contact Doug Crawford directly.  His contact information is below.

Draft email template from NL Leaders to their contacts...

    Dear _________________

It is my pleasure, as one of the leaders of the Navy League of the United State, to inform you of an upcoming event and opportunity I think you could be interested in hearing about. The Navy League is hosting an event in Washington D.C. at which the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Navy, Undersecretary of the Navy for Acquisition and Logistics, the Chiefs and Commandants of the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine, Admirals, Generals, and members of the administration will be speaking and attending luncheons, receptions and a banquet. The primary topics include: Seapower and America, Energy - The Next Wave, Piracy, Smart Power - Haiti, and Cyber Warfare

If this sounds interesting to you, please read further. If not, please consider supporting the Navy League by joining and or donating to Support & Serve the men, women, families and young Americans who wear the cloth of our nation and of the Sea Cadets.

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Navy League of the United States by joining the President's Circle Donor Program and/or attending Sea-Air-Space 2010 (SAS). This year's event is the largest exposition ever, with the most impressive line up of distinguished speakers, and hosts the first President's Circle Reception - exclusively for donor members.

The attached documents are intended to provide an overview of the SAS schedule, and to allow you and your friends to sign up for the Navy League's President's Circle.

The President's Circle Donor Members are individuals who have made annual donations to the Navy League of at least $1,000 each. Their donations are critical to Navy League accomplishing its mission to: support and serve the men and women wearing the cloth of our nation, educate the nation and our nation's leaders about the needs of our sea services, support youth programs like Sea Cadets for all young Americans...and to facilitate communication between sea service leaders, congress, administration and business leaders.

Because President Circle Donor's contributions are so important, Navy League recognizes their support several times throughout the year at different venues, and invites donors to President Circle Receptions - where they meet our nation's military, government and business leaders, and other distinguished Navy League members.

Each qualifying President's Circle member attending SAS 2010, May 3-5, 2010 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center near our nation's capitol, will receive one ticket to each of the luncheons, one ticket to the SAS Reception & Banquet, entrance to the exposition including all speaker panels and the exhibit floor. They will also receive an invitation to the very special President's Circle Reception...which will be held in the Gaylord's President's Suite or
possibly pier side aboard the historic presidential yacht Sequoia.

It would be my pleasure to speak with you or to refer you to Doug Crawford so he can personally answer questions and invite you to "Stand in the Circle" with other national leaders at Navy League's Sea-Air-Space 2010.

I can promise you that you will be serving a cause that is good for our country, good for our military, and good for each and every individual attending SAS and the President's Circle Reception.

    Very Respectfully,
