Marines Memorial Club - Admiral Mike Mullen 23 Sept.
- The Stockton Council had Major General J. Michael Myatt, USMC (Ret), President and CEO of the Marines' Memorial Association, as a guest speaker Monday, August 25. He discussed the Marine Memorial Club and Hotel, its activities, and what it does for members - veterans and active duty. He highlighted this September 23 event. He also hinted that the Marine Band may have a free concert in the Club Theater but one needs to come back to this calendar for details once date and time are confirmed. For members the Club publishes the quarterly magazine Crossroads of the Corps. A couple of items of note in the magazine on becoming a member. If you should decide to join, list on the application a sponsor you know. There are several amongst us - two that come to mind are Stan Ellexon and Bill & Jeanne Sharkey. By doing so the sponsor earns a complementary night at the hotel. Rates for members are well above $100 plus tax and parking and higher for non-members. But there is a special offer called the Straight Flush - a five night member package Sunday through Thursday at $549 including the amenities. Also of note is the reciprocal club agreements with other clubs in the USA and overseas. If interested in any of this visit the website for details, reservation, tickets, etc. Please pass the word on Admiral Mike Mullen's visit.Phelps_______________________________________________
