12:34 PROGRAM: The San Francisco Council of the Navy League of the United States and the Pacific Merchant Marine Council of the Navy League of the United States invite you to our first joint lunch meeting, 11:45 am 1:30 pm Tuesday June 12, 2012 at Scomas Restaurant at Pier 47. Our featured guest speaker is Monique Moyer, Executive Director, Port of San Francisco. Ms. Moyer will present an overview of the Port of San Francisco organization with special emphasis on the Americas Cup, waterfront development and issues effecting visiting Navy and Merchant Marine Ships.
Monique Moyer was appointed Executive Director of the Port of San Francisco by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom in April 2004. She is the second woman to serve as Executive Director in the Port's 147-year history. Prior to joining the Port of San Francisco, Ms. Moyer served as the Director of the Mayors Office of Public Finance & Business Affairs, for the City & County of San Francisco, appointed by Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. in February 1997. Ms. Moyer also serves on the executive boards of the California Association of Port Authorities, the San Francisco Tourism Improvement District, the Mid-Peninsula Housing Coalition and the Fine Arts Museum Foundation.

When is that again? The San Francisco Council hosts a quarterly luncheon on the second Tuesday of the month in March, June, September and December. Upcoming quarterly luncheon dates are 9/11/2012, 12/11/2012, 3/12/2013, 6/11/2013, 9/10/2013 and 9/10/2013.
GET INVOLVED. The Inter-Council Fleet Support Team formed April 3, 2012 and will meet in San Francisco 4:30pm 6pm on the first Tuesday of every month to coordinate efforts among Pacific Central Region Councils to support ships visiting San Francisco. Location: Sinbads Restaurant, 141 The Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA (next to the SF Ferry Building). Loads of public transportation options, $5 valet parking and a cash bar. Upcoming monthly Inter-Council Fleet Support Team dates are 7/3, 8/7, 9/4, 10/2, 11/6, and 12/4. Dues are $100 per year. Fleet Support Team members often receive special access to fleet events such as ship visits, receptions, etc.
Tribute to Admiral George Dewey, Union Square, 12:00pm Monday June 25, 2012. Join the Commanding Officer and crew of the USS Dewey (DDG-105) for a tribute to Admiral George Dewey (December 26, 1837 January 16, 1917) at the Victory Statue Admiral Dewey Memorial Column in Union Square. The Fleet Support Team is making this happen!
