      Dear Club Members and Friends,

I invite you to join Admiral Gary Roughead, the 29th Chief of Naval Operations, and Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, on a journey exploring Albania, Macedonia, Kovoso, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Croatia. Our trip, the Balkans Unvieled, October 8-21, is a rare opportunity to look at this richly complex region in a small exclusive group, with unparalleled access to insights about our nation's military, security, and peace keeping involvement around the world.

      • Attend discussions with Study Leader Admiral Gary Roughead, about the conditions that led to the Balkan conflict and progress made since that time.
      • Enjoy meetings with embassies and specially invited distinguished local guests.
      • Visit the Sarajevo Tunnel Museum with a survivor who used the tunnel to get in and out of Sarajevo during the siege.
      • Explore Tirana, capital of Albania, the country listed as #1 in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2011 and #4 on the New York Times list of places to go in 2014.
      • Visit UNESCO-listed Ohrid, Macedonia one of the oldest human settlements in the world and take a walking tour of Pristina, the capital of one of the youngest countries in the world, Kosovo.
      • Stroll through Skadarlija, the bohemian quarter of Belgrade, sometimes compared with Paris’ Montmartre district.
      • Visit beautifully reconstructed Mostar and walk the medieval walls of UNESCO-listed Dubrovnik.

These are countries on the rise for U.S. travelers, and still quite undiscovered. If you'd like to learn more about these places, take a look at some recent press:
