- Feb 21, 2002Hi! the name's Katherine Birkett. I'm 24 and a very big fan of Peter
Levy and Paul 'Hud the Stud' Hudson's banter on Look North.
My credentials:
July 19th 2001 - Meet Paul Hudson and Harry Gration in Skegness.
(Account of day available to post if required)
July 20th 2001 - Penny Bustin mentions 'Hud the Stud' on Look North.
July 23rd 2001 - Peter Levy reads one of my e-mails out on the
lunchtime show.
August 2001 - I produce the first two parts of 'the Christa Ackroyd
Slide Shows'
September 2nd 2001 - Begin collecting Christa Ackroyd's Sunday
Express columns.
September 3rd 2001 - Christa Ackroyd's first Look North show.
September 4th 2001 - Part 3 of the Christa Slide Show is produced,
sadly it is resting in peace after a computer glitch.
September 10th 2001 - Peter Levy reads out part of my 'Hitch-Hiker's
Guide to Look North' on his Radio Leeds show.
October 8th 2001 - sub-opted Look North begins. I begin to receive
an East Yorkshire/Lincolnshire bulletin from Hull presented by Clare
Frisby.
November 15th 2001 - Meet Paul Hudson (second time) and Lisa
Gallagher at BBC Leeds.
December 6th 2001 - D-SAT installed at home so I can see both
Belmont and Emley versions of Look North.
December 20th 2001 - BBC Leeds broadcast all of its shows live from
the Briggate in Leeds city centre. A very lucky day for me, as I end
up not only meeting Peter Levy, Christa Ackroyd and Paul Hudson
(third time), but I end up on stage in front of 300+ people in the
Briggate and broadcast live on Radio Leeds as I am chosen out of the
audience to play 'Beat the Intro'on Peter Levy's show! I end up
round the same table as Peter and Paul, and swap banter with them
(an ambition I thought I'd never fulfil!). Later on in the day, I
hand in a 'Thankyou' card to reception at BBC Leeds and end up, by
sheer fluke of timing, meeting Harry Gration again and Ian White! As
I leave the building, I meet Paul Hudson yet again! I return to
Leeds train station absolutely elated! CHRISTMAS CAME FIVE DAYS
EARLY!
January 28th 2002 - D-SAT Look North begins. On the same day, my
liking for Look North is bought to the attention of Look North
reporter Tom Ingall, who sends me an e-mail praising my 'outstanding
dedication' to the Look North cause.
February 5th 2002 - Peter Levy reads another e-mail of mine out on
the evening show. It was about Paul only being half visible to
digitally-endowed viewers!
February 20th 2002 - I submit an idea for a series of adverts for
Look North to Jake Fowler at Look North.
The future - I'm hoping to become a Broadcasting Assistant at BBC
Leeds, and have already taken my first steps towards doing so.
