- Apr 23, 2014Hey David and all, Here's the original box. I paid about $35 for this vintage kit and was very satisfied with the build. The guy that I bought it from has a nice collection of vintage models that he bought while stationed in England and Germany. I plan to get more as my funds permit. Take care! Nice model - it's actually an RCAF Canso A s/n 11088 not RAF. Looks like an Airfix model - it is amazing how many people visit our Duxford-based Catalina at shows and recall how they made an Airfix Catalina when they were young!
Sent from my iPadGents this is a vintage 1970's model. Found it at a flea market and just finished putting it together. Enjoy! Ron MoranSent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE DROID

Thank you, Nelson. My grandfather flew that precise BuNo in Iceland. They contacted me some years ago around the 70th anniversary of its manufacture as they were planning a flyout celebration--and the family was going to go. They cancelled the event as parts didn't arrive in time. It's exciting to know that the family could go fly in the very plane our father/grandfather/great grandfather flew some 70+ years ago. Would be quite emotional, I'm sure.Thank you for reminding me and adding the new info about this being available to fly for fare.Torrence SullivanCalifornia
