Group Description

After years of being hypothyroid, frustrated with my weight, I, like nearly everyone else with a thyroid disorder, blamed it on being hypo. I understood my metabolic rate was less due to hypothyroidism and that was the reason I gained.

I watched a show several years ago with Dr. Phil and Katie. Oh my! What they said hit me right between the eyes. The simplicity, the logic. He challenged America to change their point of view about food. To stop looking at it as we do now, to start looking at it for what it truly is: Fuel for our bodies.

I'd like to expand on that concept. Hold it up to the light, understand it completely and relate it to a hypo metabolism.

I finally saw the answer to why it is so difficult to lose weight when hypothyroid: We continue to eat food as we have all our lives. But we can't anymore. We have to eat food as fuel, eat the amount that our bodies need to function and thrive - then stop. Once we get our thyroid hormone levels optimized we need to take it to the next step, we need to learn and understand how to use food as fuel. How much we need for both energy and thyroid hormone conversion.

Join us, as we set aside info that no longer applies to us - diets, calories, scales and points.

Let's explore the concept of feeding our bodies to health knowing that our metabolic rates have changed from what they were before thyroid disorder hit us. Let's learn how to determine our fuel requirements, how frugally our engines run, the correct amount of food to give us energy and convert hormones, and allow our bodies to naturally adjust to a healthy weight.

Learn how Mini Meals can be one answer to meeting these needs.
