ABC News' Dec. 5 report is "Which Congressman Is Blocking Bill That Would Protect Kids with Autism?," focusing on Chairman Kline's efforts to block the legislation, claiming that states should be the appropriate regulator. The report features an interview with Congressman Miller and the Miller/Harkin Congressional bills.
The Dec 4 story focuses on the Centennial School in Pennsylvania, a national leader in the use of positive behavioral interventions and supports, which has almost entirely eliminated restraint and seclusion. The article also discusses state laws and how few states have strong regulations on restraint/seclusion.
