I'm a virgin onelister who's managed to lurk unnoticed for about a year.
However the idea of a get together at Fibbers in York is so appealing that
it's worth stepping into the light to confirm Chris' comments about the
general excellence of the venue, their food and their staff.

It will be a great occasion, mark my words! For additional evidence of
Fibbers' enthusiasm for music, it really is worth checking out their
                top-notch web site at http://www.fibbers.co.uk/

And a wonderful opportunity to visit York . . . what more could you possibly
                ask?!!

                Best wishes

                    Subject: [Otway] Onelist Get-Together

                    From: "Chris Nuza" <chris.nuza@...>

I really liked the idea of a Onelist get-together so (with John's approval)
I thought I'd look into it a bit. I've checked with Fibbers in York, and
they would be delighted to host a private party gig for Onelisters.

I've suggested a weekend evening, preferably a Saturday night, and because
many people would be travelling a long way I thought they may want to arrive
early and there should be food available. Fibbers have agreed to keep the
kitchen open if we go, and I can vouch for the excellence of the food. I'm
pasting the menus below, or if it doesn't come across you can have a look on
                    http://www.fibbers.co.uk/

Other than those slight differences, and the fact that tickets would be sold
in advance, I reckon that it should be almost indistinguishable from a
regular gig. Therefore ticket prices would be about the same as for a
normal gig (John and the venue could work that out between them).

Fibbers is a brilliant venue, probably my favourite of the many I've been
to, so this would be a great place for it to happen.

I have a list of hotels to check bed and breakfast rates for anyone who
wants to stay over, and I gather we could negotiate a fine rate for a block
booking. Unfortunately I've been too busy this week to ring any of them,
and the group booking managers don't work weekends, so I'll have to look
into that next week. In the meantime, it would be helpful if you could
                    please let me know asap:

                    (a) Whether you would be interested in going to a private party gig at
                    Fibbers
                    (b) Whether you think you are likely to want to eat there
                    (c) Whether you are likely to want a hotel room in York overnight

Depending on the level of interest, I'll either go ahead and organise it or
                    drop the idea.

                    All the best

                    Chris

                    Thought for the day:

I'm a virgin onelister who's managed to lurk unnoticed for about a year.
However the idea of a get together at Fibbers in York is so appealing that
it's worth stepping into the light to confirm Chris' comments about the
general excellence of the venue, their food and their staff.

It will be a great occasion, mark my words! For additional evidence of
Fibbers' enthusiasm for music, it really is worth checking out their
                        top-notch web site at http://www.fibbers.co.uk/

And a wonderful opportunity to visit York . . . what more could you possibly
                        ask?!!

                        Best wishes

                        Steve Pursglove

                          From: "Pursglove" <jill@...>

I'm a virgin onelister who's managed to lurk unnoticed for about a year.
However the idea of a get together at Fibbers in York is so appealing that
it's worth stepping into the light to confirm Chris' comments about the
general excellence of the venue, their food and their staff.

It will be a great occasion, mark my words! For additional evidence of
Fibbers' enthusiasm for music, it really is worth checking out their
                          top-notch web site at http://www.fibbers.co.uk/

And a wonderful opportunity to visit York . . . what more could you possibly
                          ask?!!

                          Best wishes

I'm a virgin onelister who's managed to lurk unnoticed for about a year.
However the idea of a get together at Fibbers in York is so appealing that
it's worth stepping into the light to confirm Chris' comments about the
general excellence of the venue, their food and their staff.

It will be a great occasion, mark my words! For additional evidence of
Fibbers' enthusiasm for music, it really is worth checking out their
                              top-notch web site at http://www.fibbers.co.uk/

And a wonderful opportunity to visit York . . . what more could you possibly
                              ask?!!

                              Best wishes

I thought I'd look into it a bit. I've checked with Fibbers in York, and
they would be delighted to host a private party gig for Onelisters.

I've suggested a weekend evening, preferably a Saturday night, and because
many people would be travelling a long way I thought they may want to arrive
