Moscow. An explosive device went off in St
Nicholas the Miracle-Maker church in Moscow,
injuring two people. The causes of the explosion
have not been identified yet. Security forces and
emergency center personnel are working at the site of the incident.
The Moscow Chief Interior Department announced
the explosive device was placed in a bag. Two
women working in the church were trying to take
it out in the street when it went off in their
hands. One of the women is suffering burns on her
arms and face, while the other one was injured by
splinters. Their condition is not serious.

Different sources give different versions of the
incident. One of the versions says unidentified
people threw the explosive device in the church.
Eyewitnesses claim the attackers were youths aged between 14 and 16.

“The initial reports say that two youths of
Slavic origin entered the church, left the bag
and ran away. Smoke started coming out of the bag
and a woman tried to take it out. After that an
explosion was heard,” said anonymous source.

Moscow police have immediately commenced searching for the two youths.
The Russian Orthodox Church called on the Russian
people to protect clergymen, their homes and holy things.
