BELGRADE -- His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle's medical condition
      in unchanged, doctors say.

The 93-year-old head of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) has been
treated at the military clinic VMA in Belgrade since last fall.

The medical team overseeing this told Beta news agency today that all
of the patriarch's vital functions were normal.

He is alert, communicative, and actively cooperates during therapy
      and rehabilitation, the doctors added.

The statement explained that Pavle's health was stable in that
infections and blood clots, present when he was admitted to hospital,
      are now not detected.
