St. Herman Orthodox Orthodox Theological Seminary
Saint Herman Orthodox Theological Seminary
The 2007-2008 academic school year began with the celebration of the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. Returning and new seminarians gathered at North America's first Russian Orthodox Church, Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Kodiak, Alaska and celebrated the feast with His Grace Bishop NIKOLAI.
Following the feastday, orientation began on the 29th, with a Molieben and address by His Grace. His Grace admonished the seminarians that they were undergoing a life changing transformation, one in which a leader is formed through repentance and loving obedience to Christ. Following His Grace's address the community was able to venerate the holy relics of Saint Herman.
Sessions at the seminary included; the formation of a student government, campus safety issues, family support resources, and spiritual formation. Local service agencies and law enforcement also gave presentations.
Classes at the seminary begin on Tuesday, September 4th.
