      Over 1000 Orthodox churches restored and 200 built for seven years in
      Moscow Region

      Krasnogorsk, August 7, Interfax - Builders in the Moscow Region have
      reconstructed some 1000 old and built over 200 new Orthodox churches,
      Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, vicar of the Moscow
      diocese, has reported.

      'I testify that the face of the Moscow Area has greatly changed in
      the last seven years', the metropolitan noted speaking at the grand
      meeting devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Moscow Regional
      construction complex, on Tuesday.

      He conveyed to the Moscow regional builders a congratulatory message
      and blessing from Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia.

      Metropolitan Juvenaly presented a number of builders, who
      distinguished themselves in the construction and restoration of
      Orthodox churches in the Moscow Area, with orders of the Russian
      Orthodox Church and patriarchal diplomas.
