To the Orthodox community of metropolitan Detroit:

The family of a local priest, Fr. George Shalhoub of St. Mary's
Antiochian Orthodox Church and Fr. Roman Star, president of the
Metropolitan Council of Orthodox Christian Churches (COCC) have
requested that we distribute an appeal to the local Orthodox
community. The same appeal may have been read in your parish last
week..if not, please consider asking your parish priest to make an
      announcement.

Fr. Shalhoub's son-in-law, Jason, is 33 years old and has a rare form
of leukemia - cancer of the bone marrow. To save his life, Jason
needs a bone-marrow transplant from someone between the ages of 18 and 50.

There will be testing for the bone marrow match this Sunday
(tomorrow) Aug 5th between 11 AM and 4 PM at St. Mary's Antiochian
Orthodox Church in Livonia. The church is located at 18100 Merriman
Rd, Livonia MI 48152-4310 - between 6 and 7 Mile roads.

For further details, please call 734-422-0010.
