On 7 January the Christmas is celebrated with traditional Christmas
coal in whole Georgia. In the capital Christmas coal pacing begins
from David the Buileder's Church which is placed on the territory of
State University and ends at Sameba church. The whole night lasts the
Christmas occasion. Liturgy was recited by Georgian Patriarch Ilia II
at the Sameba church. Also the Georgian authorities - Nino
Burdzanadze, Gigi Uguglava and also Eduard Shevardnadze met Christmas
at the church. At the dawn President Saakashvili arrived from Ukraine
and also went to church to present at the mess. After coming
Christmas the epistle of Patriarch was read at Sameba church. In the
letter Ilia II appeals to preserve traditional values in epoch of
Globalization. Also in epistle is mentioned importance of territorial
unification and was mentioned the question connected with drag
addiction and to make amendment in penitentiary system.

One of the greatest events was celebrated by Georgians with light
candles in the windows and this tradition has implemented for several
years and it becomes more and more popular in the country. According
to Patriarch's explanation, with this action believers invite Our
      Savior in families.
